Simmons & Simmons has announced the appointment of Bas Berghuis van Woortman to its international life sciences group. Mr van Woortman, who is joining the law firm as a partner, will be based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Previously with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Mr van Woortman has represented companies in cases involving intellectual property, including cases that have been brought before the European Court of Justice and the European Patent Office.
Also joining the firm’s life sciences group in Amsterdam is András Kupecz, formerly of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He has been appointed as a senior associate and registered patent attorney.
