Yamo Deniz, chief medical officer at GE Healthcare Lifesciences, is set to join the board of directors of Cytos Biotechnology Ltd which is developing a product for allergic asthma. Dr Deniz previously worked in the respiratory and inflammation groups at Genentech and Roche respectively, and played a key role in the regulatory filings for several key agents including omalizumab (Xolair) for the treatment of asthma. In addition, he led Genentech’s peanut allergy programme. Dr Deniz completed his medical studies at the University of Massachusetts and trained in paediatric allergy and immunology at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina.
Cytos announced the appointment on 4 December 2013.
