Wolfgang Plischke becomes chair at Evotec

Wolfgang Plischke, formerly an executive of Bayer AG, has been appointed chairman of the Supervisory Board of Evotec AG, the Hamburg-based drug discovery company. He is joined on the board by the new members Iris Löw-Friedrich and Paul Linus Herrling.

Dr Plischke worked for more than 30 years at Bayer before retiring in April 2014. He was most recently responsible for technology, innovation and sustainability at the German multinational and had oversight for the Asia/Pacific region. Prior to that he headed the company’s pharmaceuticals’ business. Dr Löw-Friedrich is the chief medical officer and executive vice president for biopharma development at UCB SA while Dr Herrling is a consultant to Novartis AG having formerly been global head of research.

Evotec announced the appointments on 12 August 2014.
