Vincenzo Salvatore, formerly head of the European Medicines Agency’s legal service, has joined Sidley Austin LLP as senior counsel in the firm’s European life sciences regulatory practice. In this position, he will provide strategic legal advice on the European Union’s legal processes relating to all aspects of the pharmaceutical industry including enforcement and data protection issues. At the EMA, he was responsible for defending the agency’s actions in court, coordinating legal advice and providing legal support and interpretative guidance to its governing bodies and six scientific committees.
Prof Salvatore is also a full professor of international law at the University of Insubria – Varese in Italy where he currently teaches European Union law and international trade law.
