Vassilios Skouris, president of the European Court of Justice since 2003, has been re-elected as president for a three-year term to October 2015. Mr Skouris is a graduate in law from the Free University in Berlin. He received his doctorate in constitutional and administrative law at Hamburg University in 1973 and has worked as a professor and jurist in Greece and elsewhere since that time.
The European Court of Justice announced the appointment on 9 October 2012.
