Dave Tapolczay has been appointed head of MRC Technology, the technology transfer arm of the UK Medical Research Council, effective 11 February 2008.
Dr Tapolczay was previously vice president, technology development at GSK Pharmaceuticals and chief executive officer of StylaCats Ltd and Pharmophix.
MRC Technology commercialises and licenses discoveries made by its own scientists located at the National Institute for Medical Research in north London. From 2013, the scientists will be relocated to a new Centre for Medical Research and Innovation, situated next to the British Library and the St Pancras railway station.
