The Bayer Group has named Thomas Ramdahl as managing director of its recently acquired radiopharmaceutical developer Algeta ASA. Dr Ramdahl succeeds Andrew Kay, the former Algeta chief executive officer.
Dr Ramdahl, who was previously chief operating officer of Algeta, will report directly to Oliver Rittgen, CEO of Bayer Nordic, and chairman of Algeta.
Algeta co-developed a radiopharmaceutical with Bayer for the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer that has spread to the bone. The therapy was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in May 2013.
The appointment was announced on 14 March 2014.
