Thad Huston, a veteran biopharma executive, has been named chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Galapagos NV, effective 1 July. In this role, he will help manage the company’s new business strategy focusing on oncology and immunology. Mr Huston has most recently been global head of finance and corporate operations at Kite, the cell therapy division of Gilead Sciences Inc. Prior to this, he was CFO of LivaNova Plc, a publicly listed company with devices for cardiac surgery and neuromodulation. His longest tenure was with Johnson & Johnson Inc where he held senior financial roles across five countries including the US.
Mr Huston holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Penn State University, US.
Galapagos announced the appointment on 15 June 2023.
