The Swedish biotechnology company Cyxone AB, which specialises in autoimmune disorders, has appointed Tara Heitner as its new chief executive. Dr Heitner has held senior management and board positions for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across North America, Europe and Asia, focusing on business development, fundraising and negotiating strategic partnerships. She has a doctorate in chemistry from McGill University in Canada, and an MBA from the Danish Technological University of Denmark. Cyxone AB is a clinical stage biotech company, with a portfolio of immunomodulating drugs targeting autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
