Stephen Yoder, former general counsel and head of licensing and intellectual property at MorphoSys AG, has been appointed chief executive officer of Pieris AG. Mr Yoder is taking over from the interim chief executive and co-founder, Claus Schalper, who will continue as chief financial officer.
Educated in molecular biology and in the law, Mr Yoder is a registered US patent attorney with deal-making experience. At MorphoSys, he helped conclude research alliances with both Novartis and with Daiichi-Sankyo.
Pieris is developing therapeutic proteins which are recombinant lipocalins.
