Simon Roitt, a veteran biopharmaceutical executive, has joined Karus Therapeutics Ltd as head of clinical development. Based in Oxford, UK, Karus has PI3K and HDAC6 inhibitor programmes ongoing for inflammatory disease and cancer.
Dr Roitt has held senior positions at Roche, GE Healthcare and Biocompatibles International (now BTG Plc).
Separately, Karus has also appointed Peter Finan as head of biology. Dr Finan joins Karus from Novartis where he held a number of senior positions over 16 years which included work on the PI3K pathway.
Karus announced the appointments on 21 October 2014.
