David Mott, chief executive officer and president of MedImmune Inc, has joined the board of directors of Shire Plc as a non executive director with immediate effect.
Mr Mott joined MedImmune in 1992 and has held the positions of chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Following MedImmune’s acquisition by AstraZeneca in June 2007, Mr Mott is also serving as executive vice president of AstraZeneca and is a member of the company’s senior executive team.
