Sergio Quezada, an inventor and professor of cancer immunology, has become chief scientific officer of Achilles Therapeutics Ltd, a company that+ he helped found in 2016. He is professor of cancer immunology and immunotherapy at University College London Cancer Institute and an inventor of patents supporting the clinical development of antibodies targeting immune checkpoints. Achilles is developing personalised T cell therapies targeting clonal neoantigens, protein markers expressed on the surface of cancer cells. As CSO, he will help progress the company’s lead products for non-small cell lung cancer and melanoma. Prof Quezada holds a PhD from the Dartmouth Medical School, US.
Achilles Therapeutics announced the appointment on 17 March 2020.
