Sean Bohen, formerly of Genentech (Roche), has been appointed chief medical officer at AstraZeneca Plc effective 15 September. He will oversee small molecule and biologics development from the early-stages to registration and be responsible for patient safety across the medicines portfolio.
At Genentech, Dr Bohen was senior vice president of early development. Prior to joining Genentech, he was a clinical instructor in oncology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, a research associate at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute.
AstraZeneca announced the appointment on 24 August 2015.
