Scancell Holdings Plc, which is developing vaccines against cancer as well as Covid-19, has appointed Gillies O’Bryan-Tear as chief medical officer and Robert Miller as medical director. The appointees will help the company advance its pipeline through the clinic and towards commercialisation.
Dr O’Bryan-Tear is the former chief medical officer at the Norwegian biotech Algeta, acquired by Bayer in 2014. Since then he has advised a number of biotechnology companies including Audentes Therapeutics, acquired by Astellas Pharma Inc in early 2020. Dr O’Bryan-Tear obtained his medical degree from the University of Cambridge and University College Hospital London in the UK.
Dr Miller is a managing partner at Artemida Pharma Ltd, a drug development consultancy. He received his medical training at The London Hospital Medical College in the UK.
