Richard Torbett, a former Pfizer executive and UK government official, has been appointed executive director for commercial affairs at the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI). In this role, he will represent the interests of industry in discussions about the procurement, distribution and pricing of medicines used by the National Health Service. Mr Torbett was most recently chief economist and director of strategy at Efpia, the European pharmaceutical industry federation.
The ABPI announced the appointment on 21 July 2015.
