René Goedkoop has become acting chief medical officer at Medigene AG, a German biotech, following the departure, for personal reasons, of Kai Pinkernell. Dr Pinkernell will continue in an advisory capacity for six months. Dr Goedkoop has been vice president of clinical affairs at Medigene since January 2019.
In his new role as acting CMO, he will be responsible for overseeing clinical projects including the ongoing trial of a T cell receptor modified T cell therapy for cancer. Dr Goedkoop previously held CMO positions at Sensimed SA of Switzerland; EryDel SpA of Italy; and Pharnext SA of France.
Medigene announced change in management on 18 March 2021.
