Pius Hornstein, an experienced Sanofi SA executive, has been promoted to the position of general manager China, the French company’s second largest market. Dr Hornstein was previously general manager for Brazil. In his new position he will report directly to Olivier Charmeil, a member of the Sanofi Executive Committee. Dr Hornstein joined Sanofi in 1998 as a product manager and has held key positions in marketing and sales management since that time. He has a master’s degree in pharmacy and a PhD degree in medical research from the University of Basel in Switzerland.
Sanofi announced the appointment on 1 March 2019.
