Philippe Masquida, a former executive of Pierre Fabre, has been appointed executive vice president and managing director of European operations at NicOx SA. In his new role, he will evaluate commercial opportunities for building NicOx’s late-stage ophthalmic portfolio. He will be a member of the company’s executive committee and report to the chief executive, Michele Garufi.
Prior to working at Pierre Fabre, Mr Masquida was an executive at Allergan Inc where he lead the company’s emerging markets’ sales including in ophthalmology. He was also director of international affairs at Laboratoires Théa, an independent pharmaceutical company specialising in ophthalmology.
Mr Masquida’s appointment was announced on 2 April 2012.
