AstraZeneca Plc has announced that Peter Kowey, head of cardiovascular diseases for the Lankenau Heart Institute in the US, will chair its new scientific review board that will review requests from researchers to access data held by the company, including patient data. This is line with new industry and regulatory initiatives to make clinical trial data public.
Other members of the board are Stephen Rennard, professor of medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center; Simon Day, director of Clinical Trials Consulting and Training Ltd; and Alexander Walker, principal of the World Health Information Science Consultants LLC.
AstraZeneca announced the appointments on 19 March 2015.
