Sanofi-aventis has announced the appointment of four new senior managers in emerging markets, effective 1 February 2011.
Patrick Aghanian, currently head of Russia at Sanofi-aventis, has been made head of the company’s Eurasia region. He will now take responsibility for Ukraine, Belarus and the Central Asia platform, which is based in Kazakhstan. Mr Aghanian, who has worked at GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis, joined Sanofi-Aventis as general manager for Russia in 2008.
Thomas Kelly is appointed head of the Asia region. He is currently head of China and will also take responsibility for the South East Asian region including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Mr Kelly joined Sanofi-aventis as general manager China in 2006 and has previously worked in marketing at Johnson & Johnson and Novo Nordisk.
The company’s head of Brazil, Heraldo Marchezini, has been made head of the Latin America region. He was made general manager for Brazil in 2004, having performed various roles with Rhodia and Aventis in sales and marketing.
Jeremy Moulding will become head of the Japan & Pacific Region, taking on responsibility for Korea in addition to his ongoing duties as head of Japan, Australia and New Zealand. He has worked for Sanofi-aventis since 1998, prior to which he worked at Astra-Zeneca.
