Pascale Witz, head of medical diagnostics at GE Healthcare, is set to join Sanofi SA to lead the newly created business unit: global divisions & strategic commercial development. Ms Witz will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and guiding product development of the French company’s key businesses. She will have direct responsibility for diabetes and oncology as well as a new structure that is being created for consumer healthcare. Ms Witz holds a master’s in business administration from INSEAD.
Simultaneously, Sanofi has promoted Peter Guenter, currently senior vice president for Europe, to the new position of executive vice president of global commercial operations. Both Ms Witz and Mr Guenter will take up their positions on 1 July and both will be members of the Sanofi executive committee.
Sanofi announced the appointment on 2 May 2013.
