Oxford BioTherapeutics Ltd of the UK has appointed Esteban Pombo-Villar as chief operations officer, based in Basel, Switzerland. Dr Pombo-Villar will also become an executive member of the Oxford BioTherapeutics’ board. Dr Pombo-Villar has worked at Novartis for over 20 years, the last 12 of which involved creating and managing alliances. Most recently he was head of alliance management at the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research. He has a PhD in organic chemistry and completed his postdoctoral studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Oxford BioTherapeutics announced the appointment on 2 May 2012.
