AM-Pharma BV has named Maarten Kraan as chief medical officer and Teun van de Laar as head of manufacturing and supply chain management. The company, based in the Netherlands, is focused on the treatment of kidney disease, sepsis and organ injury and has appointed the pair to support a global pivotal trial in sepsis-associated acute kidney injury. Dr Kraan joins the company from Pierre Fabre SA, where he was the head of research & development. He has also worked at Stallergenes Greer Ltd, Therachon AG, and AstraZeneca Plc, among others, and holds a MD and PhD in immunology from Leiden University. Dr van de Laar was most recently head of CMC and technical operations at Aduro Biotech BV. He holds an MSc in bioprocess technology from Wageningen University and a PhD in cell biology from Utrecht University.
The appointments were announced on 20 October 2020.
