Mubasher Sheikh becomes chair at Celixir

UK-based Celixir Ltd has appointed Mubasher Sheikh as chairman of its board of directors to help oversee the clinical development of its cell therapy for heart failure. Dr Sheikh is a partner at the private equity firm Permira and a former transplant physician with qualifications in medicine from the University of London and the Royal College of Physicians. He is joined on the board by the other non-executive directors Fiona Murray, associate dean of innovation at the MIT Sloan School of Management; Gary Pisano, a professor of business administration at the Harvard Business School; Conor Kehoe, a director at McKinsey & Co and Martin Evans, a 2007 Nobel Laureate and co-founder of Celixir.

Celixir announced the appointments on 26 February 2018.
