Mitchell Harris, a former executive at Abcam Plc, has joined Genomics Plc as chief strategy officer to help the genetics and data science company discover new drugs. At Abcam he was global head of emerging business lines and before that, head of the company’s proteins portfolio. Earlier, he worked at QuantumBlack, an analytics arm of McKinsey & Co. He has also worked in the UK civil service at the Cabinet Office.
Separately, Gil McVean, a founder of Genomics and professor at the University of Oxford, has assumed the position of chief information officer.
Genomics Plc announced the appointments on 9 March 2020.
