France-based Polyplus-transfection SA has appointed Mario Philips as chief executive officer to lead its service business for the gene and cell therapy industry. Mr Philips has more than 20 years of experience in the life science and bioprocessing sectors, and was previously CEO of Polyneuros SAS, a developer of kits for the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative conditions. He graduated from Groep T – Internationale Hogeschool Leuven with a degree in marketing, after earning a degree in biochemistry engineering from Hogeschool Gent. Mr Philips succeeds Karsten Wilking, who will become a strategic advisor to the company.
