Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB has appointed Krassimir Mitchev and Stefan Lethagen to senior management positions overseeing the company’s haemophilia franchise. Dr Mitchev, formerly a medical director for immunology and hepatitis at GlaxoSmithKline Plc, has become vice president and medical therapeutic area head for haemophilia, while Dr Lethagen, a former Novo Nordisk executive, is vice president for haemophilia medical and clinical sciences.
Dr Mitchev earned his medical and doctorate degrees from the University of Sofia in Bulgaria and is a specialist in internal and pulmonary medicine. Dr Lethagen received medical and doctorate degrees from Lund University in Sweden and specialised in internal medicine and haematology at Malmö University Hospital.
Sobi announced the appointments on 26 October 2013.
