Kirsti Gjellan is to join Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (Sobi) in September as senior vice president for manufacturing operations. She will take over from Lena Nyström who is retiring. Dr Gjellan comes from Pfizer Inc where she has been managing director and site leader at the Strängnäs site for Pfizer Health AB as well as a member of the board of Pfizer Health AB.
Dr Gjellan has a PhD in pharmaceutical technology and experience in working with both quality and manufacturing processes.
Sobi announced the appointment on 26 May 2014.
