Abivax SA, a France-based developer of therapeutic vaccines, has appointed Karl Birthistle as vice president for global regulatory affairs to help advance the development of the company’s portfolio of agents to treat infectious and malignant diseases. Dr Birthistle has a long history in industry and was most recently deputy head of the division of clinical review at Swissmedic, the Swiss drug regulatory authority. Concurrently, Abivax appointed Daniel Kenny, a former executive at Baxter Vaccines, as chief commercial officer and vice president of business development.
