Julian Gough, co-founder and chief scientific officer of Mogrify Ltd, has received the Academic Entrepreneur of the Year award from Cambridge Enterprise, the commercialisation arm of the University of Cambridge. Professor Gough is a bioinformation and biotech entrepreneur who led the development and application of Mogrify’s technology for direct cell reprogramming. He graduated with a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Cambridge and became professor of bioinformatics at the University of Bristol. He is now programme leader at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge in addition to his role as CSO at Mogrify.
