Judith Hemberger, a co-founder and former chief operating officer at Pharmion Corporation, has been elected to the board of directors of Algeta ASA as a non-executive director. Dr Hemberger has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including serving as senior vice president of business development at AVAX Technologies Inc, a vaccine technology company, and as a senior vice president of global drug regulatory affairs at Hoechst Marion Roussel. She will be joined on the Algeta board by Kapil Dhingra, a former head of oncology clinical development at Hoffmann-La Roche. Algeta, which is based in Oslo, Norway, is an oncology drug development company.
