Jonathan Barnsley, a senior executive at Merck Serono, is to join Ipsen SA of France on 1 April as executive vice president in charge of technical operations. In this position he will be in charge of the production facilities for specialty care products as well as chemistry, manufacturing and controls.
A UK and Swiss national, Mr Barnsley has held senior positions in manufacturing, development and engineering at Beecham Pharmaceuticals Ltd (now GSK Plc), GD Searle Company Ltd (now Pfizer Inc) and Celltech Ltd (now UCB SA). He has been senior vice president of biotech development at Merck Serono (Merck KGaA) since 2013.
Ipsen announced the appointment on 10 January 2014.
