The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced the appointment of Joe Cerrell as head of a new office that will be opening in London on 1 January 2010.
In his new role, Mr Cerrell will oversee the foundation’s policy, advocacy and communications activities in Europe. His team will expand the foundation’s partnerships with European non-governmental organisations, foundations, governments and multilateral organisations. Mr Cerrell has worked at the Gates Foundation since 2001. Previously he was assistant press secretary to former US Vice President Al Gore.
