Sapiens Steering Brain Stimulation of the Netherlands and Germany has appointed Jan Keltjens as president and chief executive of the company, which is pioneering brain stimulation products. Mr Keltjens was worldwide general manager of neurovascular at Cordis, a Johnson & Johnson Inc company, from 1995 to 2007. Since that time he has been chairman or chief executive of a number of medical device companies around the world.
Most recently he led Endosense SA of Geneva which was acquired by St Jude Medical in August 2013. Mr Keltjens holds a Master of Science degree in physics from the University of Eindhoven and subsequently started his career at the Unilever Research Laboratory in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands.
Sapiens announced the appointment on 21 October 2013.
