James Summers, a neuroscience expert, has joined the board of Mission Therapeutics Ltd as an independent member to help the UK company develop its small molecule drugs for neurodegenerative disorders, mitochondrial diseases and fibrosis. Dr Summers was previously vice president of neuroscience research at AbbVie Inc where he led drug discovery for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease treatments. AbbVie Inc has a research collaboration with Mission dating from November 2018.
Mission Therapeutics announced the appointment on 1 May 2019.
