Enterome SA has appointed Jai Patel as its chief medical officer (CMO) to lead development of therapeutic and diagnostic products for microbiome-related diseases, including a therapy for Crohn’s disease that recently entered the clinic. Dr Patel was recently chief medical and scientific officer at NephroGenex Inc and before that, an executive at GlaxoSmithKline Plc. He received his medical training at the University of London and is a member of the UK Royal College of Physicians.
Also joining Enterome as a non-executive director is Roger Garceau, a former CMO at NPS Pharmaceuticals which is now part of Shire Plc.
Enterome announced the appointments on 9 December 2016.
