Isabelle Buckle, a scientist and industrialist, has been appointed executive vice president for research applications and industrial partnerships at Institut Pasteur in Paris. Dr Buckle holds a PhD in microbiology and has served as global vice president for clinical mass spectrometry at Bruker Daltonics and as chief executive of the French in vitro diagnostics company InGen Biosciences. In her new role she will strengthen the ties between Institut Pasteur and enterprises in France and elsewhere.
Separately, Institut Pasteur announced the appointment of Pierre Legrain as executive vice president for academic development and grants. Dr Legrain will help develop partnerships between Institut Pasteur and public funding agencies and industry around public health topics such as vaccinology, microbiology, oncology and brain science. Dr Legrain holds a PhD in genetics.
