Horizon Discovery Ltd has confirmed Ian Gilham as chairman of its board of directors. Previously he was interim chair. Dr Gilham was formerly chief executive of Axis-Shield Plc, an in vitro diagnostics company that was acquired by Alere Inc in 2011. Prior to that, Dr Gilham held senior management positions at GlaxoSmithKline Plc, Abbott Laboratories, Celltech (now UCB) and Amersham Plc (now GE Healthcare). Horizon Discovery develops research tools for personalised medicines.
Horizon Discovery announced the appointment on 14 January 2014.
