GlaxoSmithKline Plc has appointed Iain Mackay to become its new chief financial officer effective 14 January 2019 succeeding Simon Dingemans who will retire in May 2019.
A chartered accountant, Mr Mackay will join GSK from HSBC Group where he has been group finance director for eight years. Mr Mackay has worked in Asia, the US and Europe. Before joining HSBC, he worked at General Electric, Schlumberger Dowell and Price Waterhouse. He is a trustee of the British Heart Foundation and a member of the Court of the University of Aberdeen.
GSK announced the appointment on 7 August 2018.
