Hemanth J Varghese, a former executive at Valeant Pharmaceuticals Inc, has been appointed executive vice president of corporate development and strategy at the Dublin, Ireland-based Endo International Plc. Dr Varghese previously directed vision care at Bausch & Lomb, a division of Valeant. He also held senior positions in corporate development and neurology at that company. Prior to joining Valeant, he helped direct corporate development at Biovail Corporation. Dr Varghese holds a BS degree with honours in biophysics and a PhD in medical biophysics from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
