GW Pharmaceuticals Plc has appointed Professor Vincenzo Di Marzo to direct its global preclinical research into cannabinoids. Prof Di Marzo will be responsible for coordinating GW’s global network of cannabinoid scientists which currently extends across 25 academic institutions in 11 countries.
Prof Di Marzo is a research director at the Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry of the National Research Council in Italy and an adjunct associate professor at the Medical College of Virginia in the US.
GW Pharmaceuticals announced the appointment on 8 March 2012.
