Giovanni Caforio, senior vice president for oncology and immunology commercialisation at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, has been promoted to president of US pharmaceuticals. In his new role, he will report to the chief executive, Lamberto Andreotti. In addition, Charles Bancroft and Béatrice Cazala have been appointed executive vice presidents of BMS. Mr Bancroft will add to his role of chief financial officer, operational responsibility for the company’s pharmaceutical business in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Canada and Japan and several countries in the Pacific rim. Ms Cazala will add responsibility for global policy to her role leading global commercialisation for Europe and the emerging markets.
