Genomics England has appointed the genomics pioneer John Mattick as its first chief executive to lead the organisation’s work in sequencing 100,000 genomes from patients in the UK National Health Service. Professor Mattick joins the organisation from the Australia-based Garvan Institute of Medical Research. He is the recipient of the 2014 University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Bertner Memorial Award for distinguished contributions to cancer research.
Genomics England announced the appointment on 7 March 2018.
