Genmab A/S has appointed Martine van Vugt to the position of chief strategy officer and promoted her to the role of executive vice president to help oversee the development and commercialisation of the company’s antibody medicines. Dr van Vugt joined Genmab in 2001 and in the following two decades, contributed to multiple collaborations including those between Genmab and Janssen Biotech Inc, BioNTech SE and AbbVie Inc.
She holds a PhD in immunology from Utrecht University and a master of science degree in biology from Wageningen University, both in the Netherlands.
Genmab announced the appointment on 28 March 2022.
