Exiqon A/S has appointed Cynthia French as its new chief scientific officer and made Erik Holmlin its new chief commercial officer. Ms French, who received a Ph.D. and MBA from the University of California, previously worked at Affymetrix, where she was the vice president of the clinical services laboratory. Mr Holmlin earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Exiqon, he was an executive with BD Diagnostic GeneOhm. Based in Denmark, Exiqon has developed technology for analysing nucleic acids called locked nucleic acids technology (LNA). The company focuses on the application of microRNA to cancer diagnostics.
