Eric Cornut, the former interim director general of the European industry federation Efpia, has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Helsinn Group in Switzerland. Mr Cornut worked for more than 20 years at Novartis AG, most recently as chief compliance officer. He was previously also chief commercial officer at Novartis Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for global product strategy.
Mr Cornut holds a doctorate degree in law from the University of Basel in Switzerland and a master’s degree in law from the University of California, Berkeley in the US.
Helsinn announced the appointment on 18 May 2017.
