Emmanuelle Charpentier of the Hannover Medical School in Germany is one of three experts in gene editing to join the scientific advisory board of Horizon Discovery Group Plc, which supplies research tools for genomics research and personalised medicines. Dr Charpentier is head of the Department of Regulation in Infection Biology at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig and Hannover Medical School and is known globally for her work on bacterial immunity.
Also joining the advisory board are J. Keith Joung, associate chief of Pathology for Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Feng Zhang, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard..
