Eliseo Oreste Salinas, a medical and regulatory expert, has been appointed executive vice president and chief medical officer at Elan Corporation Plc. He will report to Elan President Carlos Paya and be based in the US. Elan, which is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, specialises in neuroscience. Dr Salinas, who has practiced and lectured in clinical psychiatry and is a member of many professional neuroscience organisations, will be responsible for Elan’s global development, clinical and medical initiatives. Prior to joining Elan, Dr Salinas was CMO at Adolor Corp in the US and chief scientific officer at Shire Inc.
