Covis Pharma Holdings S.a.r.l, of Switzerland has appointed industry veteran Dean Mitchell as executive chairman of its board of directors. Mr Mitchell was most recently president and chief executive of Lux Biosciences Inc, a company focused on treatments for ophthalmic diseases, and CEO of the animal pharmaceutical company, Alpharma Inc. He has also held senior positions at GlaxoSmithKline Plc and Bristol-Myers Squibb Company.
Covis is a specialty pharmaceutical company, founded in 2011 with products acquired from GSK.
The company announced the appointment on 14 August 2013.
